A selfpropelled concrete railgrinding machine including lateral supporting tires and vertical supporting tires. Opposite sides of the rail are ground by opposed sets of grinding cups. Each set of grinding cups includes three cups which rotate about their own axes as the set revolves about a central axis. The lateral supporting tires are spring loaded to bear against the side of the rail.
